Clacton & North East Essex Arts & Literary Society

THE GREAT Big Gilbert and Sullivan Show ends the 104th season for Clacton Arts and Literary Society on a high note.

The last show at Clacton's Princes Theatre on Monday March 3rd 2008 was a sparkling costumed gala performance of highlights from many of the old favourite Gilbert and Sullivan operas and features six singing stars from the old and new D'Oyly Carte Opera Companies as well as other major UK opera companies.

The witty and wonderful works will include The Mikado, The Gondoliers, HMS Pianfore, The Pirates of Penzance, Iolanthe, The Yeoman of the Guard, Ruddigore, Princess Ida and The Grand Duke.

Theatre poster for The Mikado  The D'Oyly Carte Opera Company staged performances of Gilbert and Sullivan's Savoy Operas in the UK, Europe, North America, South Africa, Australia and elsewhere from the 1870s until 1982. A new D'Oyly Carte Opera Company was formed in 1988 and toured until 2003, when it suspended operations. Untill? Clacton Arts and Literary Society
